Water sports and activities

One of the wonderful things about Lake Winnipesauke is that you can take advantage of an endless array of water-based activities. You can go sailing or take the boat out for a relaxing tour of the Lake. You can work on your summer tan while taking in the enchanting views or reading your favorite novel. If that doesn’t sound enough like an activity, you can go on an exploring adventure to visit some of the over 250 islands on the Lake. You can go snorkeling or scuba diving for a closer look at the caves and the fresh water life teeming underneath the shimmering surface. You might also find some interesting rocks to take home as a souvenir.

Other activities include kayaking, jet skiing, surfing, body boarding, windsurfing, tubing and water skiing. For a little variety, you can try wakeboarding, a kind of combination sport that mixes the elements of surfing, water skiing and snowboarding. Knee boarding is also an option, especially for young adventurers.

If you don’t have your own boat, kayak or jet ski, no problem! Any equipment you need is available for rent right there on the Lake, including canoes, rafts, rowboats and water-skis. In fact, there are a plethora of items available to maximize fun for the whole family. Among these are different kinds of water slides, a water trampoline, a bounce platform for children to enjoy and fishing equipment if you decide you would like to catch your own lunch or dinner.

Of course, there is no limit to spontaneous activities you can think up on your own, such as playing water Frisbee or volleyball. Sometimes you might be in the mood for nothing fancier than a good old-fashioned swim! A dip in the water is the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day. You can mix things up with a few tricks like summersaults and handstands. You can show off your breaststroke skills or challenge someone to a race to shore.
